Big news for anyone who lives, shops, or is thinking about buying near Third and Fairfax: Whole Foods Market is opening a brand-new flagship store on Third Street on November 11, 2026. It's a bigger, upgraded replacement for the Fairfax store that has served the neighborhood since 2002, and it lands right in the heart of Beverly Grove, steps from The Grove and the Original Farmers Market.
My partner Brandon Sen and I have been watching the West Third Street corridor change for a while now, so I wanted to share what's actually confirmed, what it means for living nearby, and how it fits into the bigger picture for local homeowners.
What's Opening
According to Whole Foods Market's official announcement, the new store is a 63,082-square-foot flagship. The LA Globe notes that's roughly 22,000 square feet more than the 41,000-square-foot store it replaces. A few highlights I'm genuinely excited about:
- A taproom pouring wine by the glass and beer on tap, with local picks like Los Angeles Ale Works and Golden State Cider.
- A charcuterie venue with pre-curated or build-your-own cheese and charcuterie boards, overseen by cheesemongers and a Certified Cheese Professional.
- A coffee and juice bar with made-to-order coffee, juices, and smoothies.
- More than 1,900 local products from 400+ California-based suppliers, plus 780+ wines and 600+ craft beers.
- Full-service meat and seafood counters, hot food and salad bars, pizza, sandwiches, and fresh sushi from Kikka Sushi.
Location & Details
The new store is at 355 S. Ogden Drive, Los Angeles, in the Bloom on Third shopping center at the intersection of 3rd & Fairfax, right next door to the original store. What Now Los Angeles reports the space is tied to The Daphne, a new luxury residential development at the same address.
Opening Day and Hours
Doors open at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11. After that, regular hours are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The first 300 shoppers in line get a limited-edition 3rd & Fairfax tote bag (the first 100 get a mini version too), plus a Secret Saver coupon worth up to $100 off. The taproom also has events planned from 2 to 7 p.m. on November 14 and 21.
Parking
Anyone who has circled the lots around Third and Fairfax will appreciate this one: the store has its own parking structure with more than 600 spaces.
What It Means for the Neighborhood and Home Values
A great grocery store is one of those everyday amenities buyers consistently ask about. When I show homes and condos in Beverly Grove and the Fairfax District, walkability to groceries, coffee, and dining comes up in nearly every conversation. A larger flagship with a taproom, coffee bar, and easier parking makes this part of Third Street even more convenient day to day.
I won't promise that one store moves prices on its own, because many factors drive home values. But investment like this, alongside new residential projects such as The Daphne and the refresh of Bloom on Third, signals continued confidence in the corridor. For sellers, it's a real lifestyle selling point to highlight. For buyers, it's one more reason this neighborhood stays in demand.
